Well, I'll go to the foot of our stairs!
Wherever did that saying come from, as one of suprise/amazement?
I was thinking about this as I awoke at 5am. I've decided I just don't need a great deal of sleep. I had an early night, for me, around midnight and awoke, refreshed, thinking it MUST be time to get up.
It was hot last night and I had a floor standing fan at the bottom of the bed. It occured to me that my legs were slightly chilled and my shoulders were warm. So I threw the pillow to the bottom of the bed and turned around. Then I lay there thinking whether this was 'normal'! I mean one is supposed to sleep with head at the bedhead, non? But there's no reason not to sleep at the bottom! It felt quite liberating in a strange way. Maybe I need to do a bit of Feng Shui in the bedroom? No, I don't think you find that in the Karma Sutra!
I've got a note in my diary for July 3, "WU. WU. AS" I wonder what it means?

Now this will souind weird but here goes. Blokeys are supposed to know what direction they are facing, I can usually find North pretty quickly, and I can only sleep if I'm lying in a certain range of directions - others just feel wrong and uncomfortable. No idea why but that's just how it is.
And I have a double bed all to myself, so why do I sleep on one side (always the same side), instead of right in the middle?
Me too! Silly isn't it?
Is that why blokeys always carry on driving, even when lost, cos they KNOW which direction they're going?
I sleep on the right - or left if you're standing at the bottom of the bed looking at it the right way up!
Even in a single bed I huddle to the right hand side and MUST be able to put my left leg out.
Any more leg sticker outterers?
Yes - I am a leg sticker outterer! Especially when its hot but it has to be my left leg too ;-)
Oh there are nights I can flip and flop all over the bed...don't have a head or a foot board. I switch sides of the bed too..hubby does not mind either. I do have a special pillow. When going to church, I switch from side to side instead of "owning a pew" like some people do. You know...it is a whole new perspective.
Sounds very liberating sues! I know in the olden days people owned pews - they even had little doors on - but does that happen now?
I like the way the little old churches have been brought up to modern times with kitchens for cuppas and loos for, well, for people to use.
My mother used to have an antique shop and there was a strange pottery object which I enquired the use of. It was a slipper pot or somesuch which ladies took to church to relieve themselves on. They could place it discreetly under a crinoline. The sermons must have been direly long! Maybe mum was pulling my leg? I mean ... it's ok taking them into church empty, tucked in your carpetbag but what the heck do you do with them when they're full?
Reminds me of a long drive through France on the motorway. You know what guys are like for stopping, so I had to sit on the kiddies' potty in the front seat. The additional 6" of height put a new perspective on the outlook but I certainly wasn't going to open a window to empty it.
Eventually hubby was persuaded to pull in to a service area where I was able to discreetly tip it out of the door onto the grass.
I wonder if that patch has recovered yet?
"I sleep on the right"
I sleep on the right too. Sleeping on the left when I'm on my own feels fairly weird, but sleeping on the left with someone else on my right feels really weird. Somehow the cuddles don't quite work that way round.
SOLUTION!!!
Top and tail!!
Hmmm, though some may call it something else ......
