You have quite a variety in your front patch. One can only imagine what you would do with a bigger patch.
Diane - with a bigger patch I'd probably lay it to lawn or gravel and still have a little bed of flowers and shrubs! Or, I could have a gazebo, overlooking a pond, a fountain water feature, a herb bed ... hmmm. Or or or! :)
gurgal ... well at least you're trying!!! It's hardly your fault that New Delhi's 'ot!!!
What grows naturally there that's pretty in a garden? hmm, I think I mean indigenous plants?
Perhaps you need to get an irrigation system? get a hose and make lotsa holes in it and syphon the washing water down it??
Hey, I'm inventive if nothing else!
Oh it isn't for lack of water that its all brown and burnt - its the sheer heat of the sun . The watering is done after the sun goes down as theres such a heat buildup in the soil that steam comes off it , when watered , and the roots just shrivel , as do leaves and blossoms . This year , we have awnings over the lawn and that does help , but this just isn't garden season . Theres lots of indigenous plants , but I'm not terribly botanical , so don't have the names . We will have Balsam , Zinnia and some others , when the rains arrive - but I don't know whether these are indigenous or not .
Ahhh, I love the smell of the Balsam. Awnings over yer lawnings?? Wow, that's some expensive turf!
It's 23 deg here today. I've been meaning to go out and get my back bits tanned (my lounger doesn't go flat so I'm brown one side and white t'other) but finally had a go at the in tray.
Thinks it's time now though for some bikini-clad ironing!
:)
Hey runa, can you put a pic of your awnings on your site so's we can see? I'll put a link to your site at the side so anyone interested can have a peek!
Hope you entertained the young man with a cup of cha!
Have you got a banana tree in the garden, runa?? Or just in the fruit bowl??
I think spoon feed will be easier, I'll email ya!
the gardens are so sweet and I like your term patch!
I am interested in seeing the awnings too!
