Thwarted

Sigh ... so much for trying to be independent. I'm being thwarted. I've got two sets of bike spanners and simply don't have the physical strength to undo the bolts to lower the saddle on my bike.
Looks like I'll have to eat humble pie and take it to the bike shop. I'll promise the owner that if I decide to buy a new one I'll go to him.
I haven't quite made the bolts round but if I make any more attempts there's a strong possibility that I will.
Maybe a squirt of WD40 might help loosen things up.
I can't let it beat me of course. I've got through things far more important in life than letting a too high saddle on a blooming bike beat me!
Think I might look-see what last minute holidays are around.

But you don't!!! I've sprayed the WD40 and a friend who wanted a lift back to his place 15 miles away after taking his new car to be looked at was going to fix the saddle but he had to go elsewhere quickly so I'm STILL stuck with a seat too high. Maybe I'll go see if the WD40 has made it any more pliable.
Brrrr, it's chilly here. Reckon I'm going to have to find a woolly.

You wanted a manicure? Most guys pay only perfunctory attention to their hands. I can manage a simple manicure including hand moisturiser and a buffing of nails. Brings hands up 'real priddy'.
Mind you, my own are 'working hands', nails clean, not too long, kept moisturised because I lotion my body, daily. I wear nail polish only occasionally because I can't stand just one chip! (no, that doesn't mean I eat the whole bag full!)
Sorry, did I go off subject? ;)
I'm very good at swerving.

I have nail pitting on my ring fingers of both hands. At first I thought it was a reaction to gold, but it's on both hands now.
Doctor is baffled.....

Have your fingers got fatter while your rings have remained the same size? Maybe they're a little tight and limiting circulation? I used to find that mind caused a small hard pad on the palm at the base of my ring fingers. But I no long wear rings, except for dress up, occasionally, and now have delightfully soft little handies, awww.

Nope.
My fingers are the same size if not slightly thinner than when I got married.
That there wedding band certainly does limit my circulation though....
One hand has a ring, the other doesn't. Both have pitting.

Wow, there's tons about nail pitting on the internet!! http://www.dermatology.co.uk/psoriasis/diagnosisandcauses/article/article.asp?ArticleID=915
for instance.
I've got slight ridging on my left thumb if it makes you feel any better!

Well, thanks for that, but my nails having dozens of tiny pits on them, some thickening at the edges and they are very flaky and thin. They are no more yellow than my other nails (i.e. not very). I do have some areas of hard skin which look like veruccas but aren't (I've had them checked).
I guess it may be psoriasis. It came on about a year after I got married, so it could be stress. I've refrained from posting a scathing attack on my other half as there would be two 'moaning about 'er indoors' posts next to each other then.
Maybe I should scan my fingers and post them tonight.
Are they vertical or horizontal ridges on your thumb?

OH lor - are you going to diagnose me now??? I think I'd better do a search on here before I give you the response to that! It's probably my Mars Bar diet!
Vertical.

OK, it's the Mars Bars! Poor nutrient absorbtion, poor general health (too many late nights working) and age ... can't do anyting about that one. BUT they're not deep ones. Maybe there's time to turn 'me' around!
I'm going swimming when I've finished an hour or so's work.Mind, I've probably got another late night with a fashion show in Lincoln.
