I suppose you should know what a meatpacker looks like since you're the one who visited the meat factory!!!
Now I need a dictionary of slang to look that up!
The guys said the water was cold. Wouldn't know cos I was fully shod and clothed!
Actually, I've found that 'Uncle Sam' - beloved of Americans, was a meat packer. He packed meat in barrels during the war of 1812 (pause while cannon fires - was it a different 1812 war??) He was Sam Wilson and the US soldiers equated their US supplied rations with Uncle Sam Wilson and over time the story grew to become the fictional red/white/blue attired Uncle Sam.
Not a lot of people know that :)
